Clackmannanshire, Scotland- The Wee County
Sitting on the north shores of the River Forth is the smallest county in Scotland. Clackmannanshire spans a distance of only 16 kilometres north to south and 18 kilometres east to west and the small size has earned it the nickname of The Wee County. More than half of the population of the county lives in the main city of Alloa. However, the county often referred to simply as Clacks packs a lot of punch into a small space. With the Ochil Hills in the north and the River Devon in the west, there is plenty of nature to experience throughout this tiny piece of Scotland. This led to the creation of the county motto of “Look Aboot Ye” and the county slogan of “More than you can imagine”. The strong industrial areas of Clackmannanshire attract many industries while the peaceful beauty often brings in tourists on holiday.
