Donegal stands out, but not because it is the fourth largest county in Ireland. Unlike the other Irish counties, Donegal only borders one county in the Republic. The remaining borders are with the Northern Ireland. The coastline contains an indent that has created two major loughs, Swilly and Foyle. The land is often favoured by guests on holiday simply because the beaches are never busy and the sea cliffs are so high. Spend some time viewing historic sites such as Hells Hole in Makin Head and the Donegal Castle where the 15th century structure was built on the River Eske.
