This is a truly great day out and the chance to learn about Western horse riding - much more comfortable and easy to learn, whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced rider! Your day starts with coffee, bacon rolls and a briefing before you meet your companion for the day, your horse. Learn how to groom him (or her), tack him (or her) up and have a lesson from a qualified instructor.
Then tuck into a hearty barbecue lunch before heading out on the riding trail into the forest in the afternoon, experiencing the peace and tranquility of Western horse riding in beautiful countryside. At the end of the day, untack, rub the horse down before turning him out to pasture.
This really is a unique experience not to be missed!
Terms & Conditions:
Available Wednesdays only between March and October. Minimum age 12. Minimum height 5'. Maximum weight 15 stone. Unsuitable for pregnant women and anyone with visual or hearing impairments. Riding may be unsuitable for some disabilities so please check before booking. This experience will not be cancelled due to bad weather. The day begins at 9am and will end approximately 4pm, including upto 4 hours of riding. Please arrivg on time; late arrivals cannot always been accommodated and refunds are not possible. There will be a maximum of 12 people riding with you. Spectators are welcome to watch you ride and join you for lunch at a cost of £15 per person. Please contact the venue to book and pay for spectators at least 3 days in advance. Wear a long-sleeved top, long trousers and sturdy boots or shoes with a small heel (trainers and flat shoes aren't suitable). Dress with the weather in mind. Bring a riding hat if you have one; if not, one will be provided. Traffic congestion at Lyndhurst can add considerable time to weekend or holiday journeys. All western trails are mixed ability and are conducted at a gentle pace: walk and trot only. Complete beginners are welcome. Cameras can't be taken on the ride.
