Great Reasons to Visit Pembrokeshire

Breaks in the United Kingdom can be a great way to spend a long weekend, you shouldn’t need to spend too much time travelling (especially compared to the amount of time you’d spend travelling to a destination in Europe) and it shouldn’t have to do irreparable damage to your bank account!

There are a lot of places throughout the United Kingdom that are ideal for spending a relaxing weekend, or if you prefer places where you will have lots of sights to see and activities to take part in.  Today we will look at one location that can offer the best of both worlds, and that is Pembrokeshire.

Culture & Heritage in Pembrokeshire

Pembrokeshire can appeal to those who are looking to explorer the cultural element of the area, with Pembrokeshire having a lot of picturesque small villages, as well as a range of castles, burial chambers and cathedrals.  Castell Henllys, a reconstructed prehistoric site of an Iron Age fort is worth a look, as is the famous Pentre Ifan burial chamber which dates back to roughly 3500 BC.

Holiday Activities

There are plenty of activities that you can get involved in, ranging from the more relaxing walking, to the more adrenaline racing kayaking and cliff jumping.

There are also opportunities for you to go quad biking and if water is your thing, then surfing and canoeing is also readily available in the area.

Local Attractions

Two of the more popular attractions in the area are very well known.  The first is Oakwood theme park, which houses rides such as the well known Megafobia, Vertigo and of course, a breath taking rollercoaster!

The second well known attraction is Folly Farm, that has lots of animals that you can see and many that you can befriend and feed.

Pembrokeshire Accommodation

There are lots of cottages and lodges to stay in throughout the area for those who fancy enjoying Pembrokeshire by themselves.  There is also a purpose built holiday village Bluestone, that is a great way to spend Short Breaks In Wales.  Bluestone offers a wide range of accommodation to suit everybody’s needs and you can take the strain away from having to organise your activities by enrolling yourself on as many (or few!) of the activities that you want!
