Did you know? If you’ve hit the big 60 then you’re entitled to up to 50% discount at off-peak times and up to 30% discount at peak-times!
National Express cover a large part of the UK so you know you’re in safe hands.
Simply use the search options to find your ideal date and location.
When you’re over 60, you automatically qualify for concessionary fares on National Express coaches. Concessionary fares apply all year round on coach services to destinations within England and Wales. Coach services to and from Scotland, where your departure point is in England or Wales, are also included.
Getting your discount coach tickets
There’s no need to apply for a card to get your discount. Simply enter the number of people travelling in the ROUTE SIXTY box when you book your ticket online. National Express will automatically show you the discount.
Once you’ve bought your ticket, all you need to do is verify your age to the driver when you travel, it really is as simple as that!
Peak and Off Peak travel times
Peak travel time is every Friday throughout the year.
The following dates are also classed as Peak travel time:
- Good Friday
- Bank Holidays
- Weekends on which Bank Holidays fall (ie the Saturday and Sunday preceeding a Bank Holiday Monday)
- Saturdays in July & August
- The last 3 weeks of December (due to Christmas volumes)
- and 1st, 2nd January
All other days are classed as Off Peak.

Don’t worry about lifting your luggage, there’s always a helping hand waiting. Your driver will be happy to load your bags into one of our secure holds. National Express also guarantee your seat on the coach as soon as your ticket is booked. So no need to worry about where you’ll be sitting.
