Crieff Hydro wins Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence Award

We are pleased to announce that Crieff Hydro, the extremely popular Scottish resort nestling in 900 acres of beautiful Perthshire countryside has been award a Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence Award. This award is given to holiday properties and restaurants which consistently receive excellent reviews on Tripadvisor from their customers.

Crieff Hydro does have some rather unique selling points from it’s offer of sixty plus types of activities to fill your stay there to it’s up to twelve hours a day free childcare. Reading through the reviews of Crieff Hydro on the Tripadvisor site many of the customers who particularly enjoyed the experience went on multi-generational holidays where there really was something for every member of the family:

“Just spent a blissful few days at this hotel where there is something for everyone. Our large comfortable rooms provided beautiful views across the hills to the distant mountains, the hotel was very clean and gardens beautifully maintained. We were there as a large family group aged from 4-73. There was something for everyone, and although the hotel was full, it never felt so busy that you couldn’t find a space to relax, as the estate offers lots of quiet space if required.”

The site offers a choice of hotel accommodation plus luxury self-catering cottages although even if you book a self-catering holiday you are still welcome to eat at one of the five eating establishments at the resort. The main restaurant Meikles gets very busy though as people from the surrounding area often book to eat there for family celebrations such is the standard of the food.

There is even an area for teenagers called The Gallery with TV, pool table, table football and X-box and the whole family can enjoy a night at the intimate 38 seated cinema showing a range of different family films. The programme of entertainment and activities changes daily but try to ensure that you take part in at least one ceilidh during your stay particularly if this is your first visit to Scotland, you get talked through each of the dances and they are a great way of getting to know new people.

The hotel used to be a Victorian hydrotherapy centre and has been trading for over 140 years and is now being managed by the fifth generation of the original family. It has recently had over £40 million pounds invested in the site to ensure that it has everything a modern family expects from a hotel stay.

One of the best features is the ability to accommodate people with a disability there are four lifts on site and one of the reviews refers to the extra care provided in the Big Country kids club for her son with cerebral palsy. The staff were great at helping the little boy to get involved and enabled mum to go and get some me time with a treatment in the adult only spa area. The spa has also been nominated for an award this year and are awaiting the results so we wish them well.

So if you are looking for a top quality family holiday where no one had chance to say they are bored check out Crieff Hydro in Perthshire. Over 500 customers can’t be wrong.
