Bluestone have created a holiday village for their guests which was quoted in 2006 (via the BBC) to have costed £110m. Bluestone created log cabins amongst other properties and a fantastic water park named the Blue Lagoon which is popular in the local area as well as for those travelling to Pembrokeshire to visit the holiday resort.
Below are the main styles of accommodation offered.
There are 4 lodge designs to choose from and in total over 250 individual wooden lodges. Each is very well maintained and has many of the standard features you’d expect including a bathroom, satellite TV and a DVD player.
The luxury lodges are split into 4 mainly by size, with the smallest catering for 4 people, up to 14 in the largest. Below is a short breakdown of each of the 4 luxury lodges available at Bluestone.
2 Bedroom Lodges – Sleeps 4
Caldey Lodges – These are semi-detached including a wetroom, open plan lounge with kitchen and dining area. There are 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other is a twin bed. They have their own patio and due to the semi-detached nature, they’re great for 2 set of families or couples sharing a patio and garden area with the privacy of their own lodges. Just ensure you mention this when booking – if booking online, email them with the booking reference number and request two adjoining lodges.
For guests with accessibility requirements, Caldey lodges also offer lodges which feature wider doors, emergency pull cords, a shower seat and handrails. Please enquire at time of booking.
Ramsey Lodges – these lodges interestingly have the 2 bedrooms catering for 4 people on the ground floor and studio kitchen and lounge on the first floor. It’s a common theme with many lodges throughout the UK.
They’re also detached which is great for privacy and they come with 2 en-suite bathrooms too!
3 Bedroom Lodges – Sleeps 6
Gateholm Lodges – Like the Ramsey Lodges, these have the bedrooms on the ground floor and kitchen/lounge on the first floor. The difference is that Gateholm accommodates for 6 people in 3 bedrooms. One of the bathroom’s is en-suite the other is separate.
Skomer Lodges – Highly rated premier lodges, these are detached and stylish lodges, comfortably sleeping 6 with 2 en-suites. You get one double and two twin beds. They’re accessible too with the rooms being downstairs with sufficient space for wheelchairs if required.
4 Bedroom Lodges – Sleeps 8
Dinas Lodges – These lodges have a very modern feel about them, with two double beds and two twins which can become doubles. These also have two wetrooms too. The outdoor patio/decked area is great too with outdoor furniture these lodges come with free internet access too.
Caldey Connect Lodges – These are basically two of the Caldey lodges, which on their own are semi-detached, but with a connecting door to make them one larger lodge. You can keep the door closed if you want to keep both lodges separate or leave it open for a single, larger lodge. They’re great for 2 families that want to let their kids play but also keep some privacy. These also include free internet access and the amenities of others, plus a dishwasher; great for larger families!
Grasholm Lodges – With four bedrooms and three bathrooms which includes an ensuite you can comfortably fit 8 people in the single lodge. This is great for a large family or a shared family or group that don’t require the privacy offered by a Caldey Connect Lodge. This comes with the same amenities as the Caldey Connect.
4 Bedroom Lodges – Sleeps 14
Dinas Bunkhouse – These are designed specifically for large groups with three of the bedrooms containing double bunkbeds alongside a twin or a double bedroom in the fourth. These are fairly new and have been specially created due to demand especially for school trips or other type of group getaway. There are also two shower rooms included too.
The Welsh Cottages are situated within the village, but are brick built terraced properties. It’s almost like a mini-village within Bluestone with each having its own character with a choice of one or two bedrooms which sleep up to 4 people. They’re within the resort but in a quiet area away from the main activity so ideal for those wanting a bit of peaceful R&R.
The Modern Studios are great for couples with great access to the restaurants and evening entertainment, designed to sleep up to 2 people. They’re stylish, with modern tea/coffee making facilities, free internet access and TV/DVD and WC/shower room.
