Butlins’s new hotel and apartment building The Wave opens its doors to Guests on the 2nd July so is available for booking right now. This is the third hotel on the Bognor Regis campus and is designed for families with older children in mind.
There hotel is eight stories high with balconies and terraces for many of the 210 family rooms and all of the 29 self catering apartments. Staying right on the button Butlins have introduced a Kindle library and each bedroom has an I-pod docking station. The family games room on the ground floor is equipped with a Nintendo Wii, PS3 and DS games including that father and son competitive favourite Guitar Hero, it is a rite of passage when son outstrips Dad when rocking to Oasis.
The accommodation consists of three different types:
A 2 bedroomed apartment with a choice of twin or double beds in the second room. There is a balcony to sit outside and a roomy lounge so you can all sit down in the evening and chat about your day and what you’ve all been up to. Maybe go through the pictures off the digital camera and post them on your favourite sites so your friends back home can see what a great time you’re having.
A 3 bedroomed apartment so sleeps up to 6 and featuring a wrap around balcony offering superb views – the ones on the top floor will attract a supplement to reflect this. There will be a choice of room configurations so you can pick the one most appropriate to your family’s or groups needs.
All the hotel rooms are family rooms and what is great is that the children’s beds are in a side room off the main one so Mums and Dads can relax in the evening once the children are asleep and watch TV and chat about their day. In the traditional chalets it used to be that when the kids went to bed so did mum and dad. Standard Rooms are called Octopus Rooms, ones with a balcony are Seahorse rooms and ones with a balcony providing sea views are Dolphin Rooms.
There is a coffee bar on the ground floor and the restaurant is called The Deck you can book you holiday on the basis of room only, bed and breakfast, half or full board. And don’t forget you can still enjoy all the other aspects of a Butlin’s Holiday with other 20 sports and activities available as well as free fairground rides, the fabulous swimming pool with its flumes and of course the great family entertainment. Even the red coats have got a brand new uniform designed by young British fashion designer Hannah Clayton who has sold some of her shoes to none other than Lady Gaga.
So if you are planning to stay in the UK for your hols this year and lets face it with all that is happening in 2012 who needs to go abroad why not check out this brand new hotel. If you associate Butlin’s with the old fashioned Hi-de-hi image then you are in for a real shock and you’ll love it.
